For a year I photographed the every-day life of Biggi (48) and Rene (38) from Cologne, Germany. They share a common fate; their addiction to heroin and ensuing treatment with medicinal substitutes. The project delivers insight into their everyday reality and the external factors influencing their lives, whilst asking two key questions: How do repressive drug policies affect drug users and what are the benefits of new forms of drug substitutes compared to the current models?
